This scrap is Inconel 625. This scrap was purchased from a parts processor. Recently, various processors have started to contact us directly. Normally, scrap is sold in the secondary market in Korea, but we believe that it would be more efficient if the processor directly delivers it to the recycling company, because we recycle the scrap generated during processing and re-materialize it.

In the future, re-materialization is essential for carbon neutrality and carbon reduction, and re-materialized raw materials should be used by domestic steelmakers such as POSCO, Hyundai Steel, and Dongkuk Steel. However, domestic steelmakers are shouting about carbon reduction, but they don't seem to be using it very well. This is because they are using almost all recycled materials related to iron, but they are relying on importing materials for alloys from abroad as in the previous article.

In the case of China, there are national sanctions on rare earths and rare metals, such as banning export regulations, but in the case of Korea, there is no national regulation, so there is a problem of national wealth outflow that continues to be exported overseas. Therefore, I think the government should impose national regulations on the recycling of rare metal materials in Korea and the use of recycled materials, as well as the export of rare metal scraps. After all, Korea should use these rare metals to enter the high-value-added market.
