This purchase is Inconel 718. It seems that many manufacturers are closing down because the economy is not good these days, so I have noticed that the amount of nickel scrap is decreasing compared to the past. I think the second half of the year is going to be even worse because the economy is not good and interest rates have continued to rise.

However, on the other hand, I also have great hope because the government has announced a large-scale investment plan of about 100 trillion won in export-related manufacturing industries.

So, after all this investment in manufacturing, where does the scrap go? Currently, it's all exported overseas through distributors. It's a capital flight.

Even if the government plans to support manufacturing export capabilities behind the scenes, the scrap generated after parts are exported is not reused domestically and is exported overseas. This is also the case with POSCO, the pride of South Korean steel (we're talking about titanium and nickel scrap, not scrap from iron, aluminum, etc.).

So, what should we do? The answer is to develop recycling technologies to prevent leakage. In the case of titanium and nickel, Dong-A Specialty Metals has already developed and utilized related recycling technologies. Therefore, we want to achieve ESG management for mutual carbon neutrality and carbon reduction as well as national development through direct communication with manufacturers.
