This scrap is also titanium CP tube scrap. As in yesterday's post, titanium scrap is used in various industries. This is because titanium is called a dream material, and Dong-A Specialty Metals is the first company in Korea to recycle this dream material and supply it to steelmakers as raw materials for steelmaking (titanium sponge).


Titanium sponge

The image above is a titanium sponge. As you can see, when iron is melted, it is easily shredded to make it easier to use, and when alloyed, it becomes stronger and more elastic, so many companies use wire rods, rods, plates, etc. for manufacturing. Therefore, it is an important material that overseas countries are trying to reduce carbon by recycling early.

Titanium Sponge Alternatives

The photo above shows a titanium sponge substitute that we recycled. As you can see, it looks similar to a titanium sponge. We have been recycling these raw materials for steelmaking since 2016 and exporting them to domestic companies and overseas as raw materials for steelmaking. The fact that overseas companies are already using this material means that our material has been globally verified, and since domestic small and medium-sized foundries continue to request it from us, we are continuously purchasing scrap to meet their production.
