What is MAR-M247?
Developed by General Electric (GE), MAR-M247 is a nickel-based superalloy engineered for long-term performance in conditions ranging from 980°C to 1100°C. It features a complex alloy composition:
- Nickel (Ni) – base metal
- Chromium (Cr), Cobalt (Co), Molybdenum (Mo), Tungsten (W) – provide oxidation resistance and strength
- Aluminum (Al), Titanium (Ti), Tantalum (Ta), Hafnium (Hf) – enhance precipitation strengthening and thermal stability
